Library The Mary Jane Hamilton Library at AHEC is available for use by students, faculty, staff members and citizens of our service area. The library collection includes approximately 16,000 volumes and patrons may also access over 16,000 books online through netLibrary.com. The library subscribes to approximately 150 professional journals and magazines, both in print and on microfiche and offers access to several electronic databases that provide full-text access to journals, magazines and newspapers covering a variety of subject areas. The databases are available on-site and with remote access through the Internet. Library patrons may also request materials not available at AHEC through the interlibrary loan service. AHEC has a facility-wide wireless network. Students may access the Internet with their laptop computer or other mobile device via the wireless network on campus. Students have access to computer technology in the library lab, the computer lab and at public access computers in the student lobby. AHEC has seven interactive television (ITV) classrooms. The classrooms are equipped to receive and/or broadcast video conferences via the Internet. AHEC broadcasts and/or receives approximately 80 courses each semester with MSC, ECU, SE, and OSU/OKC using ITV.

Borrowing Privileges Library patrons must hold a valid AHEC library card or SOSU library card to check out materials from the AHEC library. Books may checked out for 3 weeks and renewed for an additional 3 week period. Videos may be checked out for 1 week.
Renewal Policy Library books may be renewed, providing they are not recalled, lost, interlibrary loan materials with no renewals allowed or reserve items. Students may renew materials via phone, email (as described above), or using their library card ID # on the web. Students checking out or renewing interlibrary loan books, are subject to the circulation and fine policies of the lending library.
Fine & Billing Policy AHEC doesn't charge overdue fines. However, lost book fines will be assessed after the library patron is sent 3 overdue notices and the materials have not been returned. The charges will be added to their student billing record in the AHEC business office. The billing includes the replacement cost of the book(s), plus a $5 non-refundable processing fee for each book.
